The conference took place at the Butoiul de Aur Restaurant, in a multicultural and dynamic atmosphere.

A significant part of the conference was the moment in which the mediators, volunteers and beneficiaries of the project were invited to present their life experiences as foreign citizens in Oradea in a free way, the problems they encountered and the role of this project in their integration process, the importance of the authorities involvement and the local community, their proposals for facilitating the integration of foreigners in Romania.

Statistics were presented, challenges, activities and results obtained as part of the project, but on the same time the role and importance of the local authority’s involvement was emphasized.

The conference ended with presenting the perspectives of continuing the activities of the Regional Integration Centre Oradea, proposals, recommendations and conclusions.

Beneficiaries, project volunteers, intercultural mediators, family members of Romanian citizens and foreigners, representatives of local authority in Dolj were present as well as non-governmental organizations.

At the conference beneficiaries who were present showed interest regarding the continuity of the project regarding integration and services offered to foreign citizens from outside EU emphasizing that it is of great support in the process of integration in Romania.

 Results of the first stage of implementation were presented and good practices identified by the project team were mentioned.

The identified challenges and solutions for them were discussed by encouraging the exchange of information and dialogue between the representatives of central and local authorities/institutions, the private sector, the communities of foreigners and non-governmental organizations involved in the process of integrating migrants with legal residence in Region 1.

Aidrom – The Ecumenical Association of Churches of Romania will organize on 24 May 2018, a conference on information and dissemination within the project “Integration of foreigners with legal residence in Romanian society – a common construction”. The event will take place in Botoşani, starting at 9:30, in the conference room of Hotel Belvedere, boulevard Mihai Eminescu, Nr. 67.

Between June 2017 and June 2019, the ICAR Foundation, in partnership with the Ecumenical Association of Churches in Romania-Aidrom, implements, at the level of Region 3, the project “Integration of foreigners with legal residence in Romanian society-a common construction”, project funded by the European Union, through the National programme -the Asylum, migration and Integration Fund.

The project aims at social integration of beneficiaries of a form of protection (BP) and third country nationals in Romania (TCN) through the implementation of a regional integration model.
